Where do tours start? Our tours begin and end at different convenient locations in the French Quarter specific for each tour. Please check the tour booking confirmation for the meeting time and place of your tour.
Are the tours appropriate for children? We welcome kids of all ages on our tours. However, New Orleans history is what it is and therefore the content of our tours can be somewhat “mature” in nature. We encourage all parents to read the tour descriptions and make the best decisions for their family members.
Do children need to be accompanied by an adult? Yes. All participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
What if I have to cancel a tour I booked? We understand plans change. Tours can be cancelled for a full refund or rescheduled up to 24 hours prior to the start time of the tour. We cannot offer refunds after 24 hours prior to the tour start, though we will make every attempt to reschedule tours as needed.
What if it rains? Our tours operate rain or shine, so check the forecast and bring an umbrella. In the case of extreme weather events, we follow the instructions of local government authorities and contact all booked guests with any updates or changes.
Can I take photos and videos on the tour? Absolutely! We encourage guests to take photos and videos and share them with us at photos@authenticcityneworleans.com. Please be mindful of other guests’ privacy when taking photos and videos.
How much walking will I have to do? The total distance of each tour is roughly less than a mile. We take a leisurely pace, make a number of stops, and there’s a restroom and drink break during each tour. We do recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and come dressed for the weather.
What methods of Payment do you accept? Authentic City accepts all major credit cards. No cash please! Bookings can be made online or in person using our cloud-based booking system.
Will I see a ghost during the tour? As you may know, New Orleans is very haunted. There’s no guarantee you’ll see a ghost on your tour, but it’s definitely possible in the French Quarter.
What if I’m running late for the tour? Tours will always start on time and we ask that all guests arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to the start time. If you are running late, please contact us and we will discuss your options.
Is tipping the tour guide acceptable? Tipping is acceptable and always appreciated, but not required.
How many people will be on each tour? Tours require a minimum of 3 people. In order to keep our tours intimate and engaging, our maximum is 14 people. Exceptions to the maximum can be made on a case by case basis. Please call us to discuss if you have a unique situation.
Who will be guiding my tour? Our tour guides are story-tellers and historians who enjoy sharing their love of the City of New Orleans. Each tour guide is licensed by the City of New Orleans.
